Stop Patterson Crossing is a citizen-directed initiative dedicated to the preservation of the Lake Carmel, Kent, and Patterson communities. We oppose the Patterson Crossing Retail Center project because it is detrimental to our communities' unique way of life.
The Patterson CrossingRetail Center is a proposed 90-acre, 411,000 square-foot big-box retail center project proposed in April 2004 by Patterson Crossing Realty LLC. The proposed project site is located on the vacant parcel along I-84 at Exit 18 on the "Kent side" of the highway. The project site abuts the Lake Carmel Park District -- a densely populated rural residential lake community. See Project Images page for details.
Community concerns about the Patterson Crossing Retail Center project include:
Traffic congestion
Tax increases due to project-related infrastructure and services
Diminished quality of life
Decline of rural community character
Diminished viability of our local small business economy
Increased crime
Diminished water and air quality
Destruction of the natural landscape and wildlife habitat
July 18, 2008 Update
